Phillauri: This time Aushka goes Punjab in search of a good story

There is much speculation about Phillauri as the movie is touted to be a romantic comedy movie set in a Pujabi village in Jalandhar district. It is Phillaur and the residents of this village are called Phillauri. The movie is the second adventure the brother sister duo – Anushka and Karnesh Sharma – in film production line. They started their journey into film production with NH10.

Phillauri is themed on a traditional Punjabi wedding but Anushka says that the marriage is only backdrop for the story. It isn’t a wedding drama said Aunshka clearing the doubt over the story of the moving being connected with a wedding. But the wedding is certainly at the center of the movie. Anushka was quite excited while releasing the date for watching the movie and she tweeted “bahut maza aayega” to her fans.

Elated after the success of the dark thriller NH10, Anushka and her brother Karnesh decided to take another leap in production and they started Phillauri. The name has it all. It is a village scene and the story revolves around a wedding. Though Anushka has denied that wedding has anything to do with the story but she is herself seen being dressed up like a traditional Punjabi bride on the sets of the movie.

Another exciting guess about the movie is role of Anushka. She is playing a ghost/witch in the movie. Diljit Dosanjh is against Anushka. Among the supporting stars are Suraj Sharma and Mehreen Pirzada. The movie is directed by Anshai Lal and it is the directorial debut of Lal who has a rich experience in working as assistant director to Saket Chaudhary and Shimit Amin.

It is expected that movie will have beautiful Punjabi soundtracks as it is set on the soil of Punjab. But noting is known about the composer, singer and lyricist.

Phillauri first look & poster

A beautiful poster is released for the web. It has Aushka and Diljit and the background is filed with flower decoration used during weddings. The poster shows Aunshka in good mod while Diljit is shown tensed. In another poster, Aushka is shown dressed up like a ghost and Diljit pampering his moustaches. One more poster is doing round on the web. It shows Diljit standing against a strong wall with his bike. He is in traditional Punjabi attire. In the coming days, we’ll have more posters until a final one is released by the producers.

Why watch the movie?

Just like NH10, Phillauri has also created hype. There is much speculation about the movie but the producers and director aren’t ready to share the details of the movie with viewers. But the rural setting and Punnabi wedding will certainly draw crowd to cinema halls.
