Pink: Amitabh Bachchan rules the courtroom
Pink has a message for society and it is loud and clear. Amitabh Bachchan is the leading star of the movie Pink and the message is delivered by the Big Bachchan. It is the rule of law should prevail. The movie reflects the feudal mindset of society where money and muscle power prevail. It isn’t the first movie on this subject but it is certainly a different movie.
It is a high-voltage courtroom drama involving three middle class working women and a bad boy of an elite family that has connections with high and mighty of the society. The women are Minal Arora (Taapsee Pannu), Falak Ali (Kirti Kulhari) and Andrea (Andrea Tariang) and the bad boy is Rajveer (Angad Bedi). The women belong to middle class society and live in a posh South Delhi Colony. These three friends share their room and everything that the feudal society has to give. They meet Rajveer at a rock concert and accept his dinner invitation at a secluded location in the Aravali hills in Surajkund, Haryana. Unaware about the sinister plans of Rajveer, the three friends go for dinner. At dinner, Rajveer misbehaves with Minal Arora in an inebriated state and one of his friends also touches Andrea inappropriately. Minal picks up a bottle and hits Rajveer in a rage. Rajveer is hit on head and he starts bleeding profusely. The women rush to their home after the hitting but Rajveer gets Minal caught in attempt to murder. Using his connections, Rich and powerful Rajveer claims the women to be prostitutes. Now the story moves to Deepak Sehgall (Amitabh Bachchan) lawyer of the women. Would Deepak be able to get justice to Minal. It is necessary to mention that he is suffering from bipolar disorder.

Why watch the movie?
The biggest reason to watch the movie is Amitabh Bachchan himself. His presence shows that he has something different to give to audiences. Second reason is the director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhary, known for Bengali dramas like Anuranan and Aparajita Tumi. The film has no magical formula to success as the director wants it to be close to reality. The story isn’t new but the presentation is. It is the view that can change everything. And with Amitabh Bachchan, the story can look different.
