Wish Upon Movie

Wish Upon: Apart some death scenes, there is little to be scared from the movie

I bet you won’t make any wish after seeing Wish Upon. It is a horror movie but of a different genre. You will remember the 1995 movie Jumanji after reading story of Wish Upon. Jumanji is a game that has no break and that goes at its own speed. At every step, there are surprises like man-eating plants and huge spiders. In Wish Upon, there is a music box that fulfills seven wishes of its owner.

Carefully woven story looks real

There is a loving father but he’s suffering financial losses and also there is a sweet daughter bearing the pain of mental trauma her father is in. Father Jonathan Shannon takes to dumpster diving to meet ends but his daughter is always in his mind. One day he finds a strange looking Chinese music box in a heap of garbage. Thinking about his daughter, the father takes the box to home and gifts it to his daughter.

Horror starts

The box has an evil spirit that captures its owner by fulfilling seven wishes of the owner. Daughter Clare Shannon becomes excited to find the magic box and starts wishing. She dreams of money, luxuries and a prince but suddenly, she notices that as her wishes come true, she loses one of her close acquaintance. It is strange and then she finds that her hands are smitten with blood of her well-wishers.

Ryan Phillippe

The bad boy of 1997 slasher movie “I Know What You Did Last Summer” has grown up now and playing the role of a responsible and loving father in Wish Upon. His presence makes the story more real and it won’t be an exaggeration to say that he’s the star attraction of the movie.

Scary scenes

Some of the deaths shown in the movie are quite disturbing and I’m sure, you’ll be extra cautious while kicking garbage or you’ll start seeing garbage with awe.

Wish Upon First Look & Poster

The poster wears a Chinese look. It is in dark color with splashes of red that resembles blood. On the bottom, the Clare is sitting covering her face with her hands. On the side, there is the demon music box that fulfills wishes. In the background, a demon is seen uttering the words Wish Upon. The name of the movie is so written that it becomes words of the demon peeping from backdrop.

Why watch the movie?

If you like horror movies then you shouldn’t miss Wish Upon as it has a story never told before. Also the bad boy of yesteryear is seen in the role of a responsible father. Horror scenes are so created that they look real. Overall, it is a nice movie but not good for kids.
