The Accidental Prime Minister is a biographical film on the political life of the 13th Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh. This movie has many distinctions like it is a debutant movie of director Vijay Ratnakar Gutte. The movie brings the hidden side of the PM Manmohan Singh to light.
Anupam Kher plays PM Manmohan Singh in the movie. He looks confused but maintains a calm posture. He’s many pressures working on him from different directions but he’s told to stick to his guns and not utter a single word. His media advisor Sanjaya Baru (Akshaye Khanna) suggests Manmohan Singh to speak up against the things maligning the PM but he chooses to remain silent. Manmohan Singh negotiates nuclear deal with the US in the capacity of PM and also manages all the scams that are unearthed during his rule. He even offers to resign in the favor of Rahul Gandhi.
