Transformers: The Last Knight

Transformers: The Last Knight: What went wrong with the movie isn’t known?

Transformers: The Last Knight has failed to make its mark on viewers. It is the fifth-installment of the live-action Transformers film series and a sequel to Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014) movie. But it failed on all counts. The series started with Transformers in 2007 and it seems that it has concluded with the fifth-installment.

Let’s start reviewing the movie from trailer

It starts with King Arthur fighting a losing battle with the only hope of help from Merlin. If you remind the first Transformers movie, you will recall that Merlin is no magician but he was only using Autobots. He was given a staff wielding ultimate power. Soon the viewers are taken to present day where Cade Yeager is struggling since Transformers 4. So, there seems to be no reason to watch the movie after watching the trailer. But the idea of seeing to gigantic robots fighting will force you to go to theaters. The Transformers 5 seems to be Optimus Prime vs Bumblebee but their fight lasts a little above 60 seconds in the 149 minutes.

Negative reviews bury positive points

On June 20, the review count of the movie was 32 on Metacritic and 29 reviews were negative. On Rotten Tomatoes, the movie got 17% support. But low score has never been a concern for Transformers series movies as saw Transformers 4 struggling at 18% and Transformers 3 doing well with 35%.

Frank Scheck, the leading Hollywood reporter, sums the movie as an overstuffed mess and suggests that whosoever could explain the incomprehensive storyline deserves a price.

IGN goes a step ahead in saying that the film like Transformers 5 doesn’t need 149 minutes to conclude. The lead character of Transformers is brought back but he isn’t assigned any project. “Cade Yeager looks confused at all the mess”, writes IGN.

Brian Truitt of USA Today also agrees that the film is overstuffed and that how could one see alien robots punching each other for two hours. He minces no words in saying that the film reaches new level of badness.

Leah Greenblatt of Entertainment Weekly adopts a soft approach while reviewing the move. She gives C-certificate to the movie saying that Bay tries to inject sense in the movie.

Los Angeles Times says the movie is “surprisingly bearable” and The Guardian compares it to a Marvel one.

Transformers: The Last Knight First Look & Poster

It is a huge poster sliced with a metallic sword. The left half has an Autobot and the right half has a Dinobot. On the bottom, the human team stands united to prevent robots from decimating human life from earth. The poster wears a dark look and the robots are shown bigger than human life.
